Many thanks to all exhibitors for a quality entry. I found the overall quality in the bitches exceptional, without a doubt, some not even placed will go on to gain top honours. Recent or pending seasons, maternal duties, etc, held some of them back today. It must bode well for the future of the breed.
The dogs too were very sound and of a nice size, masculine throughout. I feel I must mention here that I had five dogs who were so badly matted in the groin area that the testicles were literally matted together, which made feeling their entirety very difficult for me and very uncomfortable for the dogs concerned, and of course also affected movement. Handlers concerned were told at the time.
I would like to make one further comment with regards to presentation, which I must emphasise was in the vast majority of cases excellent. Trailing foot coat, inches below the pad, is not allowing the dogs to move freely as they are literally walking round on the hair. Try walking in shoes two sizes too big, I rest my case.
With regard to pigment, the only legitimate way to improve poor pigment is to breed it out, enough said.
