I would like to thank the North of England Lhasa Apso Club for the opportunity to judge my second club show which I felt very honoured to do. My thanks also go to the committee, stewards and to all the exhibitors for such a wonderful day. I must say that I was pleased to see that the breed has improved on the whole, but still found some fronts not quite up to the mark; short upper arm, lack of pro-sternum and width. Length of rib and toplines were pretty good but some did lack the required length of rib and loin. I did find some unusual hindquarter movements, the lack of angulation, muscle development, affected their movement hence not showing that typical free and jaunty movements. Heads, mouths and pigmentation on the whole was good, but did find some with the lack of pigment which we should watch out for. Over all I was very pleased with the exhibits especially my winners.

Minor Puppy Dog - 2 (1 Abs) 1st Chalmers' Chethang Orin - Best Puppy in Show Mature c/w dog with pleasing head, eye and pigment. Nicely constructed, with sound front - balanced through out. Firm top line, well set and carried tail, sound movement from all angles which clinched the Best Puppy Dog & Best Puppy in Show.

Puppy Dog - 4 (1 Abs) 1st Casling's Magic Moonlight for Meranne - 9 months, very shapely b/w dog, loved his size and overall balance, typical head, excellent mouth, good reach of neck, straight front, level topline, good tail set and hind quarters. Moved well and in good coat. 2nd Taylor's Tilantoe Orange Cream - Has many of the attributes of 1 but just lacked the get up and go as 1 today. Could see these two change places anytime. 3rd Grayshon's Glyncroft Stir it Up - 8 months, cream dog. Nice head and expression, good reach of neck, level top line and tail set. Good angulations - just needs to come together for me.

Junior Dog - 4 1st Watts' Larool Brandy Snap for Kenida JW - Quality cream dog. Lovely head, gorgeous dark eye and pigment. Nice reach of neck, firm well developed body, ribs extending well back, good topline, well set tail and good angulation. Moved true going and coming. One to watch. 2nd Povey's Timazinti Paddy Paws - 15 months c/w dog, liked his size and overall balance, typical head, good reach of neck, firm topline, well set tail, and good hindquarters. Just pipped by 1 on day. 3rd Carter & Barnett's Lowmots Black on White via Alamiks - Slightly lighter frame to 1 & 2, would of liked a little more of him but never the less nice to go over for its type. Yearling Dog - 3 (1 Abs) 1st Crook's Nanas Little Darling - Cream/sable dog very nice head and expression. Good reach of neck and nice shoulder placement, level top line and well set tail. Good angulation and moved well. Just needs a little more time to mature and come together. 2nd Povey's Timazinti Paddy Paws

Maiden Dog - 3 (1 Abs) 1st Taylor's Tilantoe Orange Cream 2nd Smith's Annmia Beau O'Bella - Nice young boy with pleasing head and expression, lovely dark eyes, excellent pigment, nice lay of shoulders and level topline. Good angulation and moves freely. Shows well for his owner.

Novice Dog - 3 (2 Abs) 1st Taylor's Tilantoe Orange Cream

Special Beginners Dog - 5 1st Whitehead's Hopeinn's Adrenaline Junkie at Chanceinn - Gold dog with nice head, eye and mouth. Good reach of neck and straight front. Level topline, well set tail and good angulation. Moved well, just need a little more maturity in coat and body. 2nd Green's Zanamop Lightening Strikes over Samorrey - Nice c/w dog, very soundly made, nice head and front assembly, good topline and angulation. Moved well. Showing a mature coat of correct texture a credit to its owner. 3rd Harrison's Brendellas Old Spice Jw ShCM - Cream sable dog has many of the attributes of 1 & 2, showing in excellent coat for his age. Post Graduate Dog - 7 (1 Abs) 1st Cassidy's Exephials Smoking Gun - Lovely b/w dog, beautiful head, nice shape eye, super pigment and correct mouth to give that typical expression. Nice shoulder and front assembly, level topline and good angulations. In excellent coat, and moved with soundness going and coming. Credit to its owner. 2nd Barthorpe's Patarch Hallowein JW - Standard sized g/w dog with pleasing head and eye. Super pigmentation and mouth, well arch neck leading to nicely placed shoulders and well angulated rear quarters. Good length of rib, well set tail, lovely free jaunty movement, in good coat well presented. 3rd Hamilton's Gilderdale G'Day - Another sound dog showing many of the attributes of the above 2 dogs, showing in excellent coat. Limit Dog - 2 1st Phillips Dimara Top O'Th Morning - Best Dog/RBIS Mature silver/grey dog, stylish well balanced and compact, pleasing head and expression, lovely dark eye, excellent pigment, good reach of neck, firm level topline, ribs extending well back, nice tail set, well angulated quarters, sound movement, well presented in full coat. 2nd Luscott's Jalus Kriss Kross JW - Another mature cream dog, stylish in his own rights pleasing head and eye. Good reach of neck, soundly made firm level topline, ribs well back, good tail set, super coat and presentation. Pushed hard for top honours.

Open Dog - 5 (1 Abs) 1st Lewis's Ch Deelayne Zaar too Busy - Reserve Best Dog Gold dog beautifully presented, have judged before and given him BIS has matured and now got his title which is well deserved. Lovely head, mouth and expression, good reach of neck, straight front and level top line. Good angulation and moves true. In excellent coat. 2nd Ogden's Absosengkye Donny - A sound c/w dog, just loved this dog's soundness and balance. So nice to go over, in good coat and moved well today. Nice to see he is getting his act together. 3rd Povey's Perjena Ice and Fire - Sound c/w dog, has got soundness and balance through out. In good coat and moved well around ring. Res Edwards & McDougall's Zuthis Hot Chatter of Quito ShCM

Veteran Dog or Bitch - 4 (1 Abs) What a class to judge with these quality dogs all worthy of the Ch status 1st Waterhouse's Ch Chtaura All U Need is Luv JW - Reserve Best Bitch/Best Veteran in Show Feminine grey bitch full of lovely type and quality, super head and expression, beautiful dark eye, sound well balanced construction, good movement, supper coat well presented. Just showed her heart off today. 2nd Pointon's Ch/Aus Ch Amesen Come Fly With Me to Ballito (imp) - Very impressive dog full of type and sound construction. Lovely head and expression. Well arched neck leading to good lay of shoulders, level top line, good length of rib and rear angulation. Showing in excellent coat. Pushed very hard for reserve best dog. 3rd Scarll's Ch Timazinti Motoro JW - Cream dog with many attributes of 1 & 2. Loved his soundness and movement. Just wished I had more top cards to give out.

Minor Puppy Bitch - 7 (1 Abs) 1st Luscott's Jalus Lady Layla - Reserve Best Puppy in Show Beautiful feminine gold bitch, lovely head and expression, super dark eye and pigments. Lovely arch neck set onto well laid shoulders, level topline, nicely ribbed, well set tail and good angulation. Has a promising future. 2nd Chalmers' Chethang Oriel - Lovely gold bitch, beautiful head and expression, nice eye and pigment. Nice lay of shoulder and straight front. Well ribbed, nice length of loin, well set tail and sound well balanced through out. Just need to get together on the move. 3rd Horne's Hopeinn's Playing With Fire - Cream bitch, lovely balance and shape. Lovely feminine bitch, good reach of neck and lay of shoulders. Nice top line and tail set. Good angulation at rear in good coat. These three are ones to watch in the future Res Horne's Viva La Diva avec Chanceinn Vhc Edwards & McDougall's Debs Mystic Topaz

Puppy Bitch - 4 1st Roberts Tilantoe Crem de Menth - Very shapely cream bitch, mature for her age, showing a lovely head and expression, nice dark eye and pigment. Well arched neck and good lay of shoulders, nice length of rib and good angulation at rear. Well set tail and moved well around the ring. 2nd Waterhouse's Chtaura Hot in the City - Feminine bitch, has less maturity of one but never the less is of sound and quality. Loved her head and expression, nice reach of neck and shoulder. Level top line, well set and carried tail. Good turn of stifle and moved well. 3rd Whitehead's Lippylou's A Diva - Young cream bitch, nice head and expression, good lay of shoulders, level top line and good angulation. Just lacked maturity of 1 & 2. Res Cartwright's Yorcliff Ebony Girl

Junior Bitch - 7 (3 Abs) 1st Scarll's Timazinti Kittie - Lovely c/w bitch, loved her head and expression. Darkest of eye and pigment. Good reach of neck and lay of shoulders. Straight front and level top line. Well ribbed up and well set tail leading to good angulation at rear. Moved soundly. 2nd Ogden's Absosengkye Flash Harriet - Cream bitch, nice head and expression. Well arched neck and lay of shoulders, firm top line and well set tail. Good angulation at rear, moved well 3rd Horne's Chanceinn Bewitched - Cream feminine bitch, will similar attributes to 1 & 2. In good coat and correct texture. 2nd Waterhouse's Chtaura Honey Come Back - Nice cream bitch pleasing head and expression, soundly made, compact body, well ribbed, level topline, good angulation and movement. 3rd Cassidy's Exephials Secret Squirrel - Silver/sable bitch in good condition. Lovely head and expression, nice reach of neck and good shoulder placements. Level top line, well ribbed and good rear angulation. Could easily change places with 1 or 2. Limit Bitch - 6 (1 Abs) What a dream class to judge. 1st Scarll's Timazinti Hope and Dreams - Best Bitch/BIS Glamorous c/w bitch full of lovely type and quality, liked her size, shape, substance and balance through out. Lovely head, super dark pigment, correct eye shape, to give her the lovely expression. Good reach of neck leading to well laid shoulders, nicely ribbed back, well set tail, sound balanced construction, to give her free co-ordinated movement. Had plenty of ring presence and immaculately presented. Well deserved Best Bitch/BIS 2nd Phillips' Dimara Irish Mist - A feminine grey bitch lovely head and expression super arch neck firm topline, so shapely and well balanced, in full coat, moved well, immaculately presented. Just preferred the movement of 1 on day. 3rd Hamilton's Gilderdale Miss Wagit - Sturdy yet feminine gold bitch of ideal size, balance and substance, lovely head and expression, good mouth, darkest eyes and nice arch neck. Sound construction, level topline, moved well. Presented in good coat Res Lewis's Deelayne Illustrious - Sound yet feminine cream/silver sable of ideal size, balance and substance, lovely head and expression. Open Bitch - 2 (1 Abs) 1st Waterhouse's Chtaura Sealed With a Kiss - Gold feminine bitch well balanced and compact. Full of quality and breed type. Pretty head, firm level top line, good tail set and holds her topline when on the move. Excellent coat texture and showing good maturity. Like this bitch very much but not quite with it today.
